Artist's Statement about this work: Utah landscapes have endless variety. I'm attracted to hills, trees, fields, and a variety of weather. This watercolor symbolizes the importance of mists in the landscape and in our lives.

Artist's Statement about this work: I painted this Nevada bicentennial tree en plein air over three days. I hope I captured how this absolutely massive old cottonwood tree dominates the corner in its neighborhood.

Artist's Statement about this work: In South Africa, watching a mother and child waiting for a bus to arrive - it was hot and she wrapped her son in her scarf to protect him from the sun rays. It was touching to watch this interaction.

Artist's Statement about this work: This painting was a plein air painting. I started with the background and shapes outside and and finished the details indoors. My Black is mostly paynes gray and nutural tint.

Artist's Statement about this work: When we adjust our perspective, and view our surroundings from another place, we are get a peek that may change us. This new view brings increased understanding and gives us the opportunity to appreciate insights into ourselves and others.

Artist's Statement about this work: A moment between activities, a deserved break. This beautiful bird, resting on the rail of a doc,k seems a symbol of peace in an otherwise tumultuous existence.

Artist's Statement about this work: Experimenting with old keys to tell a story, and a little tongue in cheek humor to go with it. The background represents a jazz club, a magical place where the trumpet is key.

Artist's Statement about this work: The simplest things sometimes are what catch my eye. I have often sat in my car looking at the puddles in the parking lot across the street from my home. I love the way the sky shows through as well as the branches from the near by trees. I am draws to the contrast of the dark asphalt and the light sky. I think the puddles are beautiful and so I painted them.
