Beaver Back Roads
Emily Thomas
$695.00

Dimensions: 11 x 15
Artist's Statement about this work: This piece was inspired by a back road in Beaver, Utah. It was a cold, wintry morning and I wanted to capture the road leading in, the distant walker and the beautiful reds of the barn and the sign.
God Save The Queen Mary
God Save The Queen Mary
Susan Riedley
$295.00

Dimensions: 14 x 11 x 0.25
Artist's Statement about this work: Having grown up in Long Beach, California, the fate of the Queen Mary has been in peril for decades as repair costs surpass its income. I was inspired to paint her under dubious clouds and name the piece "God Save The Queen Mary" as a nod to the Sex Pistol's song that ends with the phrase, "no future, no future for you."
Sunday Afternoon
Sunday Afternoon
Emily Thomas
$795.00

Dimensions: 12 x 17
Artist's Statement about this work: I loved this picture and was excited to try my hand at painting it. There was something so fun about the interplay of the black and white cows and the blue and teal in the background. My favorite thing was the cow closest to the front and how he is looking back at the viewer.
With His Stripes
With His Stripes
Jana Parkin
$675.00

Dimensions: 11 x 14
Artist's Statement about this work: While hiking in the late afternoon in Capitol Reef National Park, I noticed this pattern of deep diagonal shadows, dramatic slashes cut deep in the rocky cliff, reminiscent of scarring. It took my breath away. I had just finished participating in a plein air painting event at Capitol Reef, and my artist's eye was particularly awakened and observant as a result. This was one in a series I originally created for Holy Week, hence the title, With His Stripes...(the end of the phrase being "we are healed"). There was something powerful and healing about being alone on a beautiful trail that afternoon. I painted this later in the studio, from photos. The technique I used was masking and pouring, a technique that is painstaking and time-consuming, but I love the freedom of the washes of transparent color, and the way the focus is on light and shadow.
Diptych 180: Looking East and West in American Fork Canyon
Diptych 180: Looking East and West in American Fork Canyon
Jana Parkin
$1,350.00

Dimensions: 14 x 22
Artist's Statement about this work: American Fork Canyon is one of my favorite places to paint! Nearly every place you look is a potential painting waiting to happen. This is at a little campground/picnic area called "Swinging Bridge" (even though the swinging bridge was replaced with two more stable bridges long ago.) I created this diptych on two consecutive Friday mornings, from nearly the same spot, at the same time of day, facing different directions. (Hence, the title.) I created these in early fall, when the leaves were just starting to turn. The crisp morning air was the perfect temperature and the river was still rushing, and a fly fisherman even walked right into the picture plane so I added him too! The entire experience was so blissful (week one) that I decided to repeat it looking the opposite direction (week two). I love the way they work as a set. Each was completed entirely en plein air with my easel set up on one of the bridges.

Egyptian Theater, Park City
Egyptian Theater, Park City
Jana Parkin
$840.00

Dimensions: 16 x 12
Artist's Statement about this work: My gallery in Park City asked me to create a painting of the Egyptian Theater, an historic landmark in the area. Sadly, the Sundance Film Festival, which has been important to Utah County and Park City for over 50 years, has decided to move to Colorado next year, making this an even more meaningful image and keepsake. This was its last year here in Utah. I went up to take photos last winter and immediately loved this image for the deep shadows of dusk contrasted with the few remaining sunlit areas. Such beautiful, interesting shapes! This painting was created by masking and pouring, progressing from the lightest shape to the darkest, which gives little control over the color, but strong control over crisp, hard-edged shapes and values...a great approach for this subject matter.

Nan Gray
$400.00

Dimensions: 8 x 10 x 1
Artist's Statement about this work: I was biking through a village in the French countryside that was established in the 1200s, and I stopped to admire a wonderful, old door. When I looked more closely, I say a pair of eyes peering out of a hole at the bottom of the door. I sat on the cobblestones to have a conversation with this cat, and his expression never changed. I tried English and French, and he wasn't having any of it. Hence the title, "Just Go Away."
